Scripture

1 Peter 5:8–9 (KJV) – “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

Central Truth

The devil is not just a distant figure; he is actively seeking to destroy. But we are not helpless, we can resist him, stand firm in faith, and overcome.1

The devil’s goal is clear, to devour, destroy, steal, and kill.2 But God has given us authority, power and victory in Christ, and He calls us to resist the devil and stand firm in faith.3 Knowing God’s Word, walking in obedience, maintaining prayer and fellowship, and staying alert to his schemes are vital in resisting his attacks.

Reflection

Prayer
