The are many times when we become dull at hearing and delay our blessings and breakthroughs. Today, we want to spend time and pray to reverse the curse of dull hearing.
There are three main causes of dull hearing:
1. A bad heart: a heart that is waxed gross:
[Matthew 13:10-17 KJV] “And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”
“For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.”
“Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.”
“And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:”
“For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”
“But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.”
2. Preachers who have not renounced the hidden things of dishonesty:
[2 Corinthians 4:1-5 KJV] “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”
3. Blindness from the devil. Blindness from the god of this age.
[2 Corinthians 4:1-5 KJV] “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.”
4. Immaturity and carnality:
[1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV] “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”
[John 16:12-13 KJV] “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
These are the four key causes of dull hearing: a bad heart, preachers who have not renounced the hidden things of darkness, the blindness of the devil, and carnality.
We can, however, reverse the curse of dull hearing by simply praying for God to forgive and give us a good heart; a heart sprinkled and washed with His blood.
We must also pray that God will help us to recieve our preachers with honour and dignity, grow in grace and knowledge, and believe the word that is preached to us.
This is the simplest way to reverse the curse of dull hearing.
