“Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.” — Mark 5:19 (KJV)
In Mark 5, Jesus delivers a man who had been tormented and isolated, living among tombs and cut off from people. When he is finally healed, his natural desire is to stay with Jesus. But Jesus gives him a different assignment, not to follow Him on the road, but to return home and tell his story. The place of his pain would become the place of his testimony.
From this, we learn that God often starts our ministry close to home. Jesus didn’t send the healed man to a faraway stage, He sent him to familiar faces. Your testimony matters most where your life is known, where people have seen your struggles and your scars.
You don’t need perfect words or a dramatic platform; a grateful heart and an honest story are enough. When you share what the Lord has done, you honor His compassion, strengthen your own faith, and allow God to use your story to awaken hope in others. Simple obedience can turn everyday conversations into moments of transformation.
Prophetic Declaration:
I declare that my life will speak of God’s compassion. My testimony will bring light to my home and peace to my circle. What the Lord has done for me will glorify His name and draw others to Him.
Amen.
