Today’s Bible Reading: John 4:1-24

God is a spirit and can be worshiped from anywhere but we come to church to be fed and reinforced.

The Bible teaches us that God is a spirit and for that matter He is everywhere. In this light we understand that God can be worshiped anywhere in truth and in spirit.

Some people therefore wonder why we sometimes travel miles and miles to worship, fellowship and to attend church meetings. If God is a spirit and He is omnipresent, then God can be worship in our hearts and in our rooms so why should anyone go to church then. Indeed, that assertion is true, we don’t need go and worship God in any special mountain, or even in Jerusalem (See John 4:21)

In as much as this is true, I beseech you by the mercies of God to understand that we don’t gather in church merely to worship but also to be fed spiritually and to be reinforced to face the daily challenges of life. When we gather we build and develop community to support and minster to one another. We gather to form a community to be there for each other, ministering to each other, and serving the Living God.

To be able to make it to church this holy day;

1. Decide that you are not just going to church to enjoy a beautiful atmosphere but to be fed and empowered to live life.
2. Plan your trip ahead of time.
3. Select and iron your clothes and clean your shoes
4. Wake up early, get ready and attend the service
5. Arrive on time to be part of the beginning of the service

Dear God, 

In the name of Jesus Christ, I make a choice to serve You for the rest of my life. As I attend service tomorrow, enlighten my understanding and meet me at the point of my need, Amen.
