Luke 14:28 (NIV) — “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?”
Every dream, vision, or divine assignment carries a price tag. Success never comes by chance; it comes by choice and by cost.
Jesus used the example of building a tower to teach the importance of preparation, planning, and sacrifice before embarking on any great pursuit.
Before the foundation is laid, the wise builder sits down to think, plan, and ensure that what he begins, he can finish.
In life, many begin the journey of vision with zeal but abandon it halfway because they never counted the cost.
The cost may be time, discipline, resources, prayer, or the humility to start small and stay consistent.
Even spiritual growth and ministry fruitfulness come with a cost of fasting, of faithfulness, of dying to self daily.
Every great achievement you admire came through someone’s decision to pay the price behind the promise.
Counting the cost is not an act of doubt but of wisdom. It means aligning your faith with responsibility.
God gives the vision, but you must commit to the preparation, perseverance, and price that bring it to pass.
The secret of lasting success is not only in dreaming big but in being willing to pay what it takes to bring that dream to life.
What vision or assignment has God placed in your heart? Have you taken time to sit and count the cost?
What sacrifices, disciplines, or steps are you willing to embrace to see it fulfilled?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the visions and dreams You’ve placed in my heart.
Give me the wisdom to sit, plan, and count the cost, and the strength to pay the price required for success.
Help me not to give up halfway, but to finish strong and fulfill Your purpose for my life. Amen.
