Spend an hour with the Lord in prayer

We are aware that the Lord is still interceding for us at the right hand of the Lord. This is the ministry of the Lord now; which emphasizes the importance of prayer. Prayer plays a major role in our victorious walk with the Lord.

Romans 8:34 NLT — Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Now, the question is if Jesus Christ is praying and pleading for us at the right hand of the father where he is seated, then why should we pray? Indeed, we should pray because he wants us to watch and pray with him. At least he wants us to show our commitment by spending an hour with him in prayer. One day while on earth, the Lord entered into the garden of Gethesame and there prayed; he went with his disciples and expected them to pray and watch with him. Learning to spend at least an hour with the Lord in prayer from time to time, will save you from temptation.

Mark 14:37-39 NLT — Then he returned and found the disciples asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour? [38] Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” [39] Then Jesus left them again and prayed the same prayer as before.

I exhort you to spend an hour this day to watch and pray with the Lord. Let us commit ourselves to this ministry and reap the rewards that come with it.

Today’s Prayer

  1. Lift up your voice and sing unto the Lord a new song. Sing aloud and tell of his goodness to whosoever may hear! Sing and be thankful that the Lord is turning again our captivity! Sing and bless the Lord!
  2. Stand in the gap for your family and for your friends. Pray and seek God’s mercy for them. Pray that the Lord shall send a prophet or an evangelist to your father’s house. Pray that the Lord will save their souls from the lake of fire! Pray that the word of God will begin to make sense to your children, parents, siblings and friends!
  3. Pray that the will of God will be done in our lives. Pray that God will bring us to the saving knowledge of Christ! Pray that when the time comes for you to marry, you will be married; when the time comes for you to build a house, you will build! Pray for the healing and restoration of your family and friends! Pray that none shall be sick among us! Pray for the healing balm of Gilead!
  4. Lift your voice and hearts and plead for supernatural supply! We decree and declare that none shall lack among us! Pray that the Lord shall open unto each of us a great and an effective door! May the Lord rebuke and banish adversaries that shall rise concerning the doors that shall open unto us!
  5. Pray with faith and love that the Lord shall heal our church and relationship! We decree and declare that any spirit that causes strife and desension in the church and in families shall be rebuked. May the Lord empower is to dwell together as a family!
  6. Pray that the Lord shall deliver us from evil! Decree that any power of darkness that shall rise to fight and hinder our progress to destiny is rebuked. I decree that no weapon forms against anyone shall prosper! I condemn every tongue that has risen against anyone! May you thread upon serpents and scorpions in the name of Jesus Christ!

Stay blessed
