I am still doing my series on the secret to power. We have studied how to provoke another outpouring and infilling, and today we shall study the need to stir up the gift of God in every one of us.
[2 Timothy 1:3-7 KJV] “I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; [4] Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;”
[5] “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.”
[6] “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. [7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
In the text above, we are reading on how Apostle Paul is exhorting Timothy to stir up the gift of God which he received by the laying on of Paul’s hands. We can understand clearly from the text that there is a deposit that is made into the spirit of a man when hands are laid on them.
Timothy received this deposit, but it is not enough to have received a deposit; we should go forward and stir up that gift. We should go forward and advance the gift.
The truth is, there is a gift of God that is deposited in every one of us who has believed. We must strive to stir up that gift. We must work on it. We cannot ignore that gift. He put the gift there to empower us for change.
Don’t allow either the circumstances of your life or the afflictions of your father to discourage you. Sometimes, the devil tries to use the circumstances of your life and the afflictions of your father to discourage you.
There are times when people say so much about you that may you feel bad, but I want to exhort you to rather stir up the gift of God for change.
What is this gift of God in us?
This gift of God in us is
- The Spirit of power
- The Spirit of love
- The Spirit of a sound mind
I, therefore, declare power, love, and a sound mind upon you. Recieve that Spirit of power that can swallow up every weakness and infirmity. Recieve that Spirit of power that transforms a man into a witness. Recieve that Spirit.
Receive the Spirit of love that casts out fear. Receive the Spirit of love that helps you to obey the truth and love the brethren. Receive the Spirit of love that helps you to be faithful.
I arrest every spirit of division and fear! I speak the love of God to be shared abroad in our hearts in the name of Jesus Christ.
Receive the Spirit of a sound mind and peace. I rebuke every spirit of anxiety, depression, discouragement, and delusion. Receive soundness of mind! Receive peace in your heart! Receive peace! Perfect peace!
This is the gift of God in you. This is the gift of God that is imparted through the laying on of hands!
How do you stir it?
You stir up the gift of God through;
- Fellowshipping
- Listening
- Praying
- Singing
- Waiting
These are simple secrets to stir up the gift of God. You will make it so let us work hard.
