Exodus 22:18 KJV — Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
Witchcraft is practiced with the sole aim of gaining control over people or the outcome of events. At the root of all witchcraft practices is the quest and a strong desire to gain control of people, things, societies and the outcome of events.
Witches desire to use the practise of their craft to control people and destinies because they want to be in control. This is the perversion of God’s initial purpose for man’s existence. Man and woman was created to have dominion over every creeping thing and to subdue the earth. This godly desire in the heart of an ungodly generation is what turn to witchcraft.
God did not create any man or woman to control the will and desires of another man. Man is a free agent and must be responsible for his choices and actions. That is why God will judge every man according to his choices and actions.
Witchcraft involves two main things; divination and enchantment. Witches and wizards try to peep into the future and to manipulate it to their advantage even if it will go against others and common good. Divination is trying to predict the future, enchantment is trying to control the outcome of events with spells and malevolent powers.
- Witchcraft involves the use of symbols, types, and tokens:
- Witchcraft involves the use of incantations and sounds to invoke demons, cast spells, and wreck havoc.
- Witchcraft involves the use of moderate to extreme sacrifices depending on the type of effect you seek. Witches do not mind killing all their children just for super power to control the outcome of events.
- Witchcraft involves astra travels and projections: so witches and wizards may be required to make journeys that involve turning into animals and other creatures just to be able to travel.
Witches and wizards try to use these things to cast spells and control cities and people’s choices. If you don’t brutally deal with these wizards and witches, they will frustrate your ministry. They will oppose your ministry with subtilty.
Acts 13:6-12 KJV — And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus: [7] which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
[8] But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. [9] Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, [10] and said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
[11] And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. [12] Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
Let us consider how Simon tried to use witchcraft to control a whole city. He controlled Samaria so much that the whole city gave heed to him. Only the power of the gospel and the supernatural manifestation could break such spells.
Acts 8:9-13 KJV — But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: [10] to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
[11] And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. [12] But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. [13] Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
We have the anointing that breaks the yoke. We need supernatural power that heals the sick and cast out devils. Samaria became free because they saw mighty and great miracles. May the Lord anoint us with power to heal the sick and cast out devils. Receive that great grace.
Stay blessed!
