Acts 8:14-17 KJV — “Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: [15] who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: [16] (for as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) [17] Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.“
I believe the Holy Spirit is already given and He is here with us, working among us but not everyone has recieved Him. We want to spend this day praying for one another that we might receive the Holy Spirit. He is our helper, comforter, Lord of the Harvest, defender, our witness, and enabler!
Your land will remain an unfruitful field until it recieves the spirit.
Isaiah 32:9-15 KJV — “Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech. [10] Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come. [11] Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.
[12] “They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.[13] Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:“
[14] “because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; [15] until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.“
The prophet Isaiah spoke and rebuked the women who were at ease in Zion; he warned that there shall be many months and years of hardship if the women did not arise to do something. We shall not sit down and watch on when our forest turn into patched land. May your land receive the spirit one more time in Jesus name!
The church will remain powerless until we recieve the Spirit.
Acts 1:8 KJV — “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.“
Though the Spirit came upon Jesus at the Jordan, He recieved the spirit and power in the wilderness. It is one thing to be baptism or for the Spirit to come upon you but a different level all to gather to recieve Him, so to speak.
Luke 4:1-2 KJV — “And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, [2] being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.“
[13] “And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. [14] And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. [15] And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.“
It is one thing to eat 5kg of sugar; but another level altogether for your blood to assimilate and use all that sugar.
The church will remain defenseless until we receive the Spirit
Isaiah 59:19-21 KJV — “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. [20] And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD”.
[21] “As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.“
When the Spirit of the Lord is upon you; you have defense against the enemy.
What God can do in us is according to the dimensions of the workings of the spirit among us.
Ephesians 3:20 KJV — “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,“
Without the demonstration and manifestation of the spirit, the faith of many will dwell in the wisdom of men.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 KJV — “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: [5] that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.“
Without the manifestations and workings of the gifts of the Holy Spirit , many of us will turn to dumb idols
1 Corinthians 12:1-2 NIV — “Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. [2] You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.“
Without the fruit of the Holy Spirit, we will work the works of the flesh though we are born again
Galatians 5:16-18 NIV — “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. [17] For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. [18] But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.“
