Luke 1:1-4 KJV — “Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, [2] even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;”
[3] “it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, [4] that thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.“
For those of you who think that Jesus Christ is a figment of our own imagination and a creation of our own narrative; the account of Luke is an account you can count on.
There are a few reasons why the account of Luke can be counted on.
- Luke was not a disciple of Jesus. Luke was a physician who had heard the narrative and the account of disciples after which he decided to do his own investigation to arrive at a persuasion. After investigating the narrative and the stories and the claims he decided to write an account.
- The account of Luke therefore offers us a verified account of the things that was generally believed and delivered by eye witnesses. I am sure he visited homes to see some of those that were claimed to have been healed and raised from the dead. This is an account you can count on. Luke only wrote a corroborated narrative of the general beliefs. His account does not include any private assertion.
- The account of Luke was written in an orderly form or format. As a witness I strive to write my narratives to reflect what is true and verifiable as far as possible. I try to avoid hear-say and empty impressions. This account is orderly and teaches all there is there to know at the time the gospel was being written.
I pray that in the coming seasons, the words of this account shall minister to many. May you not have problems believing the gospel that is preached. May you admit that you can make a big difference in sharing the faith. We have the book of Luke about a third person who decided to give his own account to corroborate with what has already been taught.
Prayer points
- Pray that God will send many labourers into the vineyard, to retell the story in a more orderly form.
- Pray that there shall be the release of a great company of men and women telling the stories over and over. May there be preaching and authentic declaration.
- Pray and silence the voices of darkness that seek to cast doubt in the minds of our hearts. In the name Jesus!
Stay blessed
