[1 Chronicles 4:9-10 KJV] “And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.”
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”
As we strive for destiny, one of the key things that will try to fight your ability to rise to where you must be is perception. What others think of you and how they perceive you. Perception matters a lot, hence the need to give a good presentation of who we are.
This is the reason why the devil and the enemy will always try to use accusations and risen tongues to fight you and what you do. In our fight for destiny in the coming season, some of us will need rebranding; and others will need relocation.
The four key steps to fight the limiting force of perception will be;
- A change of name: God changed the name of Abram and Sarai and Jacob; Jacob changed the name of Benoni; Jesus called Simon, Peter! What name you allow to register in the minds of people matter.
- Putting up a fight: Jabez put up a fight in prayer! He arose and said “things must get better than this” he declared that “This nonsense must stop!” If you are not angry enough, you will live a substandard life. You will operate short of the plan and vision of God for your life.
- Letting your works speak for themselves. When the people of Samaria saw the works of Jesus, they believed.
- Acknowledging God
It is a fight for destiny. We must arise and put up a fight. We want to do what Jabez did! We want to do that tonight; we want to pray and press for four things. Jabez prayed for four things:
- Blessing
- Enlargement of his coast
- Presence of God‘s hand in his life
- Protection of the Lord.
Stay blessed
