[Luke 6:12-19 KJV] “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. [13] And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;”
[14] “Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, [15] Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, [16] And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor”.
[17] “And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; [18] And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. [19] And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all”.
In every big house, there are vessels to honour and vessels to dishonour; the Bible teaches that if a man can purge himself of somethings, that man will become a vessel of honour, meet for the master’s use.
The man that God uses purges and separates himself. We must strive to join the core people who follow the Lord.
Those chosen by God come through five different levels. When our Lord Jesus Christ returned from the wilderness in the power of the spirit, He began to;
Preach in the COMMUNITY, then some came out to form His CROWD, then some from the crowd became the CONGREGATION, then some became the COMMITTED (these are the disciples), then finally out of the committed, some became the CORE.
- The community
- The crowd
- The congregation
- The committed
- The core
1. Community;
At this level God wants every one of us to know that the kingdom of God is at hand. God wants you to come unto Him to be saved, healed, liberated and empowered to fully manifest your life’s potential (Matthew 11:28)
2. Crowd:
God does not want us to remain at the crowd level, He wants us to move on to the next level. We should strive to gladly receive the word, be baptised and be added to the church.
3. Congregation:
Don’t stop at just being added to a church. Strive to continue steadfastly in the doctrine and fellowship, prayer, and breaking of bread (See Acts 2:42-47). Let us commit ourselves to own the mission, be good stewards, be faithful, and loyal. Let all of us strive to own the mission and be good stewards.
4. Committed:
Own the mission, go out into the world and preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out devils. We are the people called to spread the word and spread the good news.
5. Core:
Let each of us, as many as have risen to this high level remember that we have not arrived. We are only pressing on to higher heights on the upward way. We are to press on towards the mark, to finish our course and finish strong.
Be blessed, I love you!
