What is your mandate as a Christain? And what is the divine mandate of the church? Today’s message teaches us our mandate and how to fulfil it.
Matthew 28:19-20 KJV — Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The charge to the church is to go into the world and teach all nations. The four simple steps to do this are;
- WAIT until you are endued with power
- GO and teach all nations; proclaim and expound on truth
- BAPTIZE those who believe
- TEACH those who abide to observe all that you have been commanded
This is the mandate and charge to the church. This is what the church is about — to be empowered and equipped to teach others to observe what we have been commanded to do.
The great commission is the mandate and the only commission. The commission to go to the ends of the world is the mandate for the commission. The whole church must be involved in this assignment to reach the ends of the world with the truth to change the world.
Prophetic declaration
- I pray that the Lord shall send more labourers into the vineyard and stand by their apostles to reach the ends of the world.
- I pray that the Lord protect those He sends from wicked and unreasonable men. Beware that all men don’t have faith.
- I pray that you shall be as harmless as doves and wise as serpents. May you escape the wicked schemes of darkness!
- I pray that the Lord shall anoint you with the Holy Ghost and with power. May the Lord send people to support you. May you never lack resources to reach out to the world!
Declaring the charge
The charge to keep is to love the Lord your God with all your heart; and your neighbour as yourself.
The charge to keep is to first of all pray for all men and people in authority so that you can live a godly and peaceable life.
The charge is reaching, preaching, saving, and keeping a soul for the master.
Final exhortation
This is the season and now is the time to save and keep souls for the master. The mandate is to reach and teach the nation. We are redeemed to send the light to the unreached lands and places. We are redeemed to live unto Him who died for us. The church is called to reach the world and not to fellowship and tickle one another. We have work to do, and the resources of the church must be channelled to doing that work.
Stay blessed
