What is the purpose of the call of God? Beyond knowing the call of God on your life, my message to you today seeks to help you understand the mind of God behind His call on your life.
Acts 26:15-20 KJV — “And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. [16] But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;”
[17] “delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, [18] to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
[19] “Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: [20] but shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judæa, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.“
It is one thing to know what to do and another level to know why you do it. Sometimes, you are just aware of what to do; but when you are unaware of what your actions must achieve; you slack in the doing of it.
There is an exact purpose your actions must achieve. Jesus Christ explains to apostle Paul why He is calling the church to go and preach. At the end of the day, our ministry and testimony must accomplish the following:
- Enlighten people: open the eyes of our hearers
- Turn people around: to turn our hearers from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God
This is the only way they will be forgiven and given an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith. God wants to give us an inheritance among the sanctified. There is a call on our lives and we must live up to the expectation.
I pray that as we step out and preach the gospel, many shall turn to God and be enlightened. May our gospel draw men to the saving grace of the Lord. May the Holy Ghost gather the people to drink freely of the water of life. This is the time to call them from all walks of life.
Stay blessed
