[Mark 11:20-26 KJV] “And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. [21] And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away”.
[22] “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. [23] For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.
[24] “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. [25] And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. [26] But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses”.
I want to exhort you today on the steps between prayer and possession. Many people pray but never receive answers to their prayers because they lack the understanding to guide them from the time of prayer to possessing the answers to their prayers.
Prayer, we know, is communication with God; speaking unto the air with the firm belief that there is God out there or within you who hears you and will answer because you trust Him. The challenge, however, is that there are many who are praying but few are trained to receive answers to that prayers. Many know how to ask but a few are tutored on receiving. It is not enough to pray, you must also train to receive.
What then are the key steps to answered prayer? What are the steps between prayer and possession? The simple steps between prayer and possession are desire or hunger, faith and forgiveness.
How deeply and earnestly do you want it? Many do not receive the answers because they are not hungry enough for it. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). Your hunger and desire are as important as your asking. Do you really want it? Do you? The Bible says that whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe that you have it and it shall be yours (Mark 11:24). You must have an earnest desire to possess and when you pray, you shall have. Our greatest undoing as the modern church is our widespread coldness and lack of hunger or desire. I pray that the Lord shall graciously heal our coldness.
The second step to possessing the answers is to believe. Believing is a key step to possessing. Faith is that lifeline. Many abort the answer before it matures. Faith decides, speak, and acts. If you really want answers you must believe, decide, speak, and act. This is the key to possess the answers.
The third step to possessing answers is forgiveness. Unforgiveness is a barrier to receiving answers. If you don’t forgive others, God cannot and will not forgive you. You must forgive others their trespasses in order to be forgiven. Unforgiveness is a great barrier. Let us learn to forgive others so that God will forgive us and be able to save us.
You will possess the answers to your prayers and God will see you through.
Be blessed, I love you!
