Hebrews 12:14-17 KJV — “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: [15] looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;”
[16] “lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. [17] For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.“
The third lesson from the Christmas story is the fact that you can win by grace, no matter what. Nothing can stop what grace sanctioned, if you don’t mess it up. If you don’t stop what grace has sanctioned, no one can. When grace sanctions things, grace watches for its performance..
When grace speaks for you, it means it will happen because that is the way God wants it. To have found grace means that God has favoured you. Grace is unmerited. That means God has sanctioned it not because you qualify, but because he has chosen to. That is why nobody or thing can stop what grace has sanctioned for you.
Mary was chosen to be the mother of Jesus Christ by grace. She found favour before God, but there were a few things she did.
Here are the tips to win by grace;
1. Be yielded
She said “behold I am the handmaid of the Lord, be it into me according to your word.” She totally yielded to God and His will and desires. When you find favour, you must be yielded.
2. Spent ample time with Elizabeth
When grace finds you, where you spend your time matters. She did not sit with scorners and the wicked. She spent time with someone who carried a similar gift. She spent time with someone who will understand her and be able to coach her. Grace requires mentorship.
3. Look diligently, lest you fall from grace.
Many people don’t see the manifestation of what grace sanctioned because they become careless with grace. If you really want to win by grace, look diligently. Don’t take grace for granted. Be diligent and win.
4. Labour more abundantly
To whom more is given, more is expected. The extent of input, determines the dimension of expectation. Apostle Paul taught that he did not take the grace upon his life for granted. He worked hard and harder hence he became what he has become. He laboured more abundantly.
1 Corinthians 15:10 KJV — “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.“
