The Lord has laid it on my heart to share with you on the power of forgiving one another.
[Ephesians 4:32 KJV] “and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ‘s sake hath forgiven you.“
One of the most effective weapons of darkness against the people of God is stirring unforgiveness among the brethren. The enemy knows the power forgiveness and will do everything to keep you from harnessing the blessing that come with it. Apostle Paul is admonishing the church to learn to be tenderhearted; you must be tender to be able to forgive people who offended you.
Forgiving one another
The Scriptures prescribe how to use this tool in building family; if you feel offended go to the offender and state your misgivings; if they admit their wrong, forgive them. Sometimes it’s difficult knowing that you have offended someone. It therefore only right that if you feel offended, you speak about it.
The second requirement is for the offender to admit that they are wrong. Pride, therefore, is one of the problems that get in the way when we try to forgive each other. We must all strive to be humble enough to concede wrong doing when we are prompted. There are times when you feel justified but if your brother or sister is offended, it makes sense to make peace.
I have always been teaching that even if what you did may be right, it’s still alright to apologise if your brother or sister feels offended. I pray that we will learn to forgive and be perfectly patient with each other. There are times when you get offended by the same person over and over again, and this can be very challenging, but may God help you to always forgive. Amen!
Stay blessed.
