I want to exhort you this morning to understand that there is more to life than meets the eye.
[Colossians 1:16-17 KJV] “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist”
The Apostle Paul, in teaching the church in Colosse, reveals that;
- There are things that are created in heaven and also in the earth,
- Of these things, some are visible and others invisible, and
- If the visible and also invisible things, some belong to the category of thrones or dominion or principalities or powers
Now it is important to understand that the outcome of life depends on the complex interplay of these forces that tends to influence our perspectives, choices, attitudes, and manners.
The Bible tells us that Satan withstood Israel and provoked David to number them. What seemed to be a normal reaction from an insecure king, actually had the influence of the devil behind it. Can you imagine how many of your actions are Satan provoked? Many lives have gone to a ditch because they were oblivious to the real and active operations of Lucifer.
[1 Chronicles 21:1 KJV] “And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.”
The Bible teaches that though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. The word of God in 2 Corinthians 10:4 reveals that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God.
Many people are failing because they think all there is to life is what meets the eye. There are more things happening around you than you think. There are many stuff that are going round than you think. This exhortation is to awaken and save you.
The truth remains that we wrestle not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and power, against spiritual wickedness in high places and rulers of the darkness of this world (See Ephesians 6:10-18).
Wherever you are, remember that there are both visible and invisible things there. There are principalities and dominions and powers and thrones. There are things that rule, and oppress, and suppress! This is the time to wake up and take charge of the atmosphere!
