“And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.” [Matthew 14:22-36 KJV].
Time spent in the presence of God is never wasted. Anytime you spend in the presence of God is an investment into your future. Time spent in the presence of God prepares you for the future. Many people fail because they don’t take time to prepare. Our Lord Jesus was better prepared for the future because He spent time in the presence of God. When our Lord Jesus encountered the storm, He was ready for it because He had been in the presence of the Father.
It is important to spend time in the presence of God! There are great benefits.
What is time spent in the presence of God?
Time spent in the presence of God is time we spend either alone or with one person or more to speak, sing, rest, sleep, worship, wait or even dance with the mindset and conviction that you are doing it for God to see. This is usually when your real intention and motivation is for God to see. Immediately you desire that another man should see, you are no longer spending that time in the presence of God (See Matthew 6:5-6).
So then you can be in your prayer closet even in a crowd, as long as your motive is not to show off.
Why should we wait?
As we spend time in the presence of the Lord in prayer, worship and waiting, we are receiving the infusion of power. As we wait and worship, wait and pray, or even wait and study the word, we are receiving power. We are receiving the grace for tomorrow. We may not know what we are up against but we know the God of tomorrow. As we spend time in His presence; He gives us what it takes to face tomorrow.
We can face tomorrow and win the victory over any storm sent to prematurely cut off our lives. Every storm is calmed once we get into the boat. I speak to every raging sea in your life to be calm. Don’t doubt in your heart! Don’t doubt in your mind too!
As you read, this presence is charged with the power and light of God. As you step out of this page, remember you have been infused with power. You are in a realm of power over the harsh realities of life. You cannot fail, you will win! You will advance! Don’t take such time for granted. Time in the presence of God is an investment.
May you see the manifestation of the power you have received in the name of Jesus Christ!
Indeed, when you spend time in the presence of God, you are preparing yourself even for things you do not know. Every time we spend with Him is worth it. Every time we spend together is worth the effort. As we worship, pray, wait, and minister to Him; we are being empowered for greater things and exploits!
Stay blessed; I love you!
