I want to exhort you on understanding the elements of our worship. When we come together, there are specific things we do. These are the key things that define our worship: we pray, sing, catch up on events and happenings, study, give, and fellowship. With the recent spate of battles against the church of God and subsequent restrictions on worship, we must begin to strategise as a church on how to organise our services.
The main key and clue is to dedicate the various services we have for the week. For instance, we have three services a week; we can reorganise the weekly meeting to meet the specific needs. In view of that, we want to dedicate Sundays to worship, Wednesdays to teaching, and Fridays to prayer.
We will, therefore, open the Sunday services with 20 minutes of prayer and singing, 35 minutes of announcements and teaching, 5-10 minutes for taking offerings and closing. This is to fulfil the 1 hour service time.
Then we shall spend 20 minutes on prayer and singing, 35 minutes on announcements, teaching, and prayer; the last 5-10 on offering a d closing.
Then on Fridays, we shall spend 20 minutes on announcements and exhortation; then 35 minutes praying and singing; then 5-10 minutes on offerings and closing.
We are hoping that this will give a certain balance to the spiritual tempo in the church. May you not miss the wisdom that we are trying to share.
It is also important to emphasize that we need to learn how to preach a one-point message and drive home key points that will foster change.
I love you
