Understanding What Drives the Spiritual Man

We have been speaking and studying for some time now and we know that there are about four basic instincts that drive the natural man; survival, security and safety, Success, and significance but the spiritual man must be driven by obedience to the will of God.

[Hebrews 10:7 KJV] “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God”

The spiritual man must be driven by the quest to fulfill the will of God for his or her life. A natural or carnal man is driven by basic instincts, but a spiritual man is driven by the will of God. His joy is not to buy a car, build a house, or run for president. His greatest joy is to do the will of God.

Your level of spirituality is determined by what drives you and not what you say. A spiritual man or woman cannot be bought by money or flattery or fame; his or her greatest inspiration is to do the will of God. Each of us should judge him or herself and find out what drives us.

In order to fulfill the will of God, you must;

  • Develop your faith
  • Follow me as I follow Christ
  • Be anointed with Spirit and with power
  • Bear the fruit of the spirit.
  • Develop the appropriate skills set

Remember that without faith it is impossible to come to God, let allow obey and please Him. When God called Abraham, there was nothing that showed that God can do what He was saying; nothing showed that God could save Noah or Moses or Daniel; it takes faith to live the life of the Spirit.

Whenever the Lord met any man; there was one thing He required, “follow Me!” Then Apostle Paul taught his church to imitate him. The Acts of the Apostles teaches us that the early church followed the apostles. I gave no other secret to success and significance than to encourage you to follow me. Learn to follow and you will win.

Acts 10:38 reveals that even Jesus Christ could do the good He did because He was anointed and God was with Him. You must be anointed. You need the Holy Spirit. He is the principal person.

The fruit of the spirit is the attitude of a spiritual man or woman. This is the spiritual attitude that can take you far. You must bear that fruit and win the battle against the flesh. A bad attitude is like a flat tire; it cannot take you far. You need to bear the fruit of the spirit if you want to go far with God and as a spiritual man or woman.

Finally, any man or woman that knows his master’s will must develop the necessary skills set to carry it out. Anointing cannot edit video clips, if we don’t develop the skill set we will be limited even as a church. The anointing will sharpen the gift but does not replace the gift. You must develop the right skills set.

Prayer points

1. Pray that God would birth in you the desire and hunger to do His will:

Jesus said, “my meat is to do the will of my Father and to finish to it.” May we have the same desire!

2. Pray that God would anoint us with His Spirit and power that we may do His will:

The Bible says that those who ask for the Spirit shall be given; God will give them the Holy Ghost.

3. Pray that God would give you utterance to speak more in an unknown language:

He that prays in an unknown tongue edifies himself.

4. Pray that God will give you utterance to speak in an unknown language:

Pray that when you speak, your voice will give a certain distinct sound.

5. Pray that the Lord would sharpen you, and give a gift that will make room for you. Pray that you’ll bear tree the fruits that will keep you standing before great men:

Many of us get puffed up with just a little promotion. Pray that you may bear the fruits of the spirit.

Stay blessed, I love you!
