Psalm 25:1-6 KJV — Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. [2] O my God, I trust in thee: Let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. [3] Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: Let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
[4] Shew me thy ways, O LORD; Teach me thy paths. [5] Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: For thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. [6] Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; For they have been ever of old.
Waiting on God is one of the secrets of highly spiritual people. It is one secret that cuts across all religious persuasions. Unfortunately however, many of us don’t take advantage of this ancient practice to harness the power of God that must be at work in us. Those who practice waiting on God become spiritually powerful and are able to withstand even in very difficult times.
The Bible teaches us that those who wait on the Lord have a quick rebound time. Every man could get tired and faint; even little children faint but those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and mount up with wings as eagles (See Isaiah 40:31)
To wait upon the Lord is to find a quiet and secluded space to spend time in His presence alone, with a group, or as a congregation.
In that time frame, you take time to;
- Rest and sleep
- Pray in tongues to build up yourself
- Relax and meditate in an atmosphere of music
- Read the Bible and relevant Christian literature
In the moment of waiting, we spend more time listening, than praying. I pray that you will find time periodically to wait on God and never be weary.
Bless you!
