1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV — “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.“
We are stepping into the year of abounding in the work of the Lord; and we want to understand what exactly comprises the work of the Lord. This is what we will be discussing and trying to study.
- The work of the Lord is to believe in the sent one (See John 6:29). Working out your own salvation with fear and trembling is the work of the Lord. Working to save your own soul, to save yourself from this untoward generation is the work of the Lord (See Acts 2:39-42).
- The work of the Lord is to go and preach the gospel (See Matthew 28:18-20)
- The work of the Lord is to show compassion (See Matthew 25:31-46)
- The work of the Lord is to contend for the faith. To fight for the sanctity of the faith. (See Jude 1:3-7)
- Washing the feet of the saints
- Serving in church or volunteering
These are the basic things that comprise the work of the Lord. We are committed to abounding in this work in the year
Stay blessed!
