What Should You Do When You Feel Tired Inside?

What should you do when you feel tired inside? As we journey by faith towards the promise, there are times when you feel tired and fatigued and exhausted inside. What do you do when you feel tired and fatigued inside?

  1. Get away and find rest. Get a cool place and recuperate.
  2. Spend some time in the presence of God in prayer, meditation, and fasting. When our Lord felt overwhelmed He went to Gethsemane to pray. When you cry unto the Lord, He will lead you to the rock that is higher than you.
  3. Search and speak faith and hope to your soul; speak calmly to yourself. Sometimes, we feel the way we do because of the lack of the right perspective. The Psalmist spoke to his soul when he was overwhelmed. You can speak to your disquieted and or cast down soul.
  4. Speak to your most trusted friends. Jesus spoke to Peter and John about how He was feeling; and asked for prayer.
  5. When all else does not work seek medical or professional help.

After the apostles reported back to Jesus all that they had both done and taught; He requested that they go to a quiet place and rest. There are times when you have to get away from the noise.

[Mark 6:30‭-‬32 KJV] “And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. And he said unto them,”

“Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. And they departed into a desert place by ship privately”.

In Psalm 61, we learn how God leads to the rock that is higher than us. Be anxious for nothing.

[Psalms 61:1‭-‬4 KJV] “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

“For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.”

What Should You Do When You Feel Tired Inside?

Thirdly, search and speak faith and hope to your soul; speak the word over your soul. When you feel tired pant after the Lord as the deer pants for water.

[Psalms 42:1‭-‬11 KJV] “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?”

“My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holiday.”

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar”.

“Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”

“As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

A load shared is half lighter. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is to speak with the closest allies and recruit support. Jesus took all the twelve to the garden but he spoke about His feelings to the three.

[Matthew 26:36‭-‬41 KJV] “Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.”

“Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”

“And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

What Should You Do When You Feel Tired Inside?

The king’s mother recommended wine and strong drink as a sedative for those unable to be comforted and for the terminally ill.

[Proverbs 31:1‭-‬9 KJV] “The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.”

“It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes strong drink: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.”

“Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.”

I do not doubt in my mind that you will do well and excel in all that you do.

Stay blessed
