Luke 18:35, 37–43 (KJV)
One day, Jesus was passing by Jericho—not stopping, not waiting—just passing by. On the roadside sat a blind man whose life had been reduced to begging. He could not see Jesus, but he could hear that Jesus of Nazareth was near. That moment was his opportunity, and he refused to let it pass in silence.
There are some key lessons to learn
Be Spiritually Sensitivity – The blind man recognized the sound of divine opportunity. Though physically blind, he was spiritually alert. When others merely announced, “Jesus of Nazareth passeth by,” he discerned, “The Son of David is here.”
Have Bold Faith – He cried out for mercy despite opposition. The crowd tried to silence him, but resistance only amplified his cry. True faith grows louder when challenged.
Have a Personal Desire – When Jesus asked, “What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee?” the man was clear and specific: “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Faith knows what it wants from God.
Expect a Transformational Encounter – One word from Jesus changed everything. The blind beggar became a seeing follower, and his healing turned into a public testimony that glorified God.
ACTIONS:
Do not ignore moments when Jesus is passing by your situation—through His Word, prayer, or a prompting in your spirit. Cry out in faith, refuse to be silenced by doubt or discouragement, and be specific about what you are believing God for. When He responds, follow Him wholeheartedly and let your testimony give glory to God. Today, lift your voice—mercy is within reach.
