Matthew 6:33 KJV — But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
The way, in this context, is Christianity. The Bible refers to our way of life as the way. When the scriptures talk about the way, it is making reference to the Christian way of living.
Acts 19:9-10 KJV — But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. [10] And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
You must choose to walk in the way because it is the only way of living that gives access to scarce resources and eternal life. Christianity is choosing a way of life that guarantees you access to the scarce resources of this life and eternal life. Every other way may give you access to scarce resources but cannot lead to eternal life. That is what makes Christianity stand out. Every other choice may lead to success and wealth but only the faith walk leads to good success and eternal life.
Christianity is choosing a way of life that guarantees you access to the scarce resources of this life and eternal life.
You can prosper, live large, feel free and maximize your life by living independent of God, but remember that you will lose your soul in the end. You can have all the sex you want, travel, chill, drink, smoke and mock the way, but should you die in your sins; you will perish without mercy.
As we go through life, there is one question that must be at the back of your mind; what shall it profit a man, if he or she gains the whole world and loses their own soul. There is no reason to lose you in the pursuit of things that can be added to you.
Mark 8:36 KJV — For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
It’s important to remember that;
- Jesus Christ is the door that leads to eternal life; by Him if any man enters in, he may go in and out and find pasture (See John 10:9-10)
- Christianity is the name given to the way of life that guarantees abundant life in Christianity. It begins with faith in Christ and progresses through acting on that faith.
James 2:14 KJV — What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
When we come to church therefore; when we gather together, it is to receive the wisdom and power to walk in the way. We are the people of the way; Christ is both the power and wisdom of God. We need the wisdom to guide and the power to propel us in the right way. This is what puts preaching and teaching above all other things. As harmless and powerless as it may seem, the foolishness of preaching is what saves those who believe.
1 Corinthians 1:21-24 KJV — For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. [22] For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
[23] but we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; [24] but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
You must understand that through the foolishness of preaching, we receive both the wisdom and power. As I am preaching and teaching now, two things are happening: wisdom is flowing, and power is flowing. You must open up and receive both by faith.
Stay blessed.
