I have come to understand that most of the times the ‘why’ is more important than the ‘what’ and even the ‘how’. When a man understands why he must do sometime, it is easier to stir up action in him than knowing what must be done and how to do it. When there is a will, there is always a way. It is always important to know why even when you know what and how.
[John 3:1-4 KJV] “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother‘s womb, and be born?”
Nicodemus came to the Lord Jesus Christ and began to praise Him but the Lord was quick to state that every man or woman must be born again. You must be born again. You were born of flesh and blood but you must be born again by water and of Spirit by the will of God. You must be born again.
There are so many reasons why every man must be born again; but one of the most important reasons why every one of us must strive to be born again is the fact that until a man is born again, there are many spiritual realities he cannot perceive or even understand. Except a man is born again, he cannot perceive kingdom realities.
[1 Corinthians 2:12-15 KJV] “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.”
The main argument to be born again is so that you can understand spiritual things. They are spiritually discerned and we must be born again if we can understand them.
Many of us behave the way we do because we lack spiritual understanding. We are not born again, so we don’t even understand spiritual things. Until you get born again you will miss spiritual reality. Getting born again is the first step towards God. That is what will enlist you to understand spiritual reality.
Without doubt, the first step towards being born again is to accept the Scriptures as the only inspired writing that is profitable for instruction in all matters of faith, life and godliness. Remember that it is your knowledge in the Scriptures that will make you wise unto salvation.
[2 Timothy 3:14-17 KJV] “But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
When you get to know the Scriptures, it makes you wise unto salvation. It is of paramount importance that you strive to know the Scriptures. That is the first step to salvation. For me, that is the first and the most important step.
Coming to church helps, praying and singing and witnessing is all good, but until you really get born again; you will still miss Heaven. The Bible tells us that on the last day many shall come to Christ and say “we cast out devils in Your name, You are in our streets, You walked in our hood” but He will say, “Go away from me…”
Listen! You must be born again; you must be born of water and of the Spirit to enter the kingdom.
The question is, are you born again? You must be born again!.
Stay blessed; I love you
