Wrestle!

[Ephesians 6:10‭-‬20 KJV] “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak”.

There are three types of verbs: action verbs, linking verbs, and helping verbs. An action verb is a doing word, example: “We wrestle against principalities and powers”. “To wrestle”, therefore requires an action.

I want to exhort you to wrestle. You must live your life as a wrestler; as one who lives to fight, and fights to live. There is an evil power out there seeking to cast you down and keep you down. We are in a wrestle, and you must wrestle.

To wrestle is to take part in a fight, either as a sport or in earnest, that involves grappling with one’s opponent and trying to throw or force them to the ground.

We are engaged in a fight in which the enemy is trying to throw you down, and keep you down. You must not joke with your journey through life. We are wrestling with spiritual forces and powerful entities of the dark world. You must stand and wrestle effectively. To effectively wrestle, you must do the following;

Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might:

Every wrestler is a body builder and a weight lifter. You need strength to win in wrestling. You need strength, you must build strength.

Put on the whole armour of God:

You must costume yourself appropriately for combat. You must be battle-ready. To win, you ought to prepare for victory.

Watch and prayer with perseverance for yourself, for the saints, and for your ministers:

This is how you win the fight against evil.

Wrestle! Fight! and do not chicken out. Arise and fight! Fight the good fight of faith and you will win.
