Sometimes God uses the wrong people to teach you the right lessons.
[Genesis 50:15-21 KJV]“And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. (16) And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,
(17) So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. (18) And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.
(19) And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? (20) But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. (21) Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them”
Surely Joseph needed to inherit the promise by faith and patience but why should it be his brothers who would put him through all that he suffered. Joseph learned great lessons in the moment of that great pain; but why should it be the swords of his own brothers that will put him through this.
As a pastor and leader, I have learned great lessons through pain and afflictions that came to me from people closest to me. The pain came from people I never expected will ever hurt me. Some of these people were those I trusted and opened up to; I told them my secrets, but God used them to teach me not to trust any man or woman. I have learned to trust God absolutely; but why should you be the one whom God uses to teach me such a useful lesson?
I pray that you will never be the person God will use to teach another a lesson. I pray that God will use the right person to teach us the right lessons. As a general, I know the pain of being hurt by armour bearers. Hmmm!!!
May God help you to be faithful and to also master bitterness. Never let bitterness take roots in you. You should not be the one who hurt anyone close to you.
But God is a master; He can use any situation to teach, help and promote you.
Friendly fire is when a soldier is wounded by the bullet of his own comrade. I pray that you will never be hurt by friendly fire; neither would your friendly fire hurt anyone. We will be our brother’s keeper. You will never hurt any of these little ones. Amen!
