I want to exhort you on the fact that you can make it! You can excel! You can overcome! You can subdue the earth and stay above! I will exhort you on simple tips that can transform your life; both now and in the one to come. I believe these tips and beliefs will significantly impact on how you live.
[Acts 14:21-23 KJV] “And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.”
- There are some invisible personalities and forces that are trying to control and determine your choices.
- There is only one name given under heaven among men that can guard and keep you from the things that work against you.
- If you have believed on the name of the Lord, then you have access to what it takes to live the God-kind of life.
- It is not going to be easy to live the God- kind of life in the midst of a perverse and a crooked generation, yet it is worth the effort.
- You will need God, an elder over you, prayer, and fasting if you are ever going to make it in this journey.
The truth is, there something terribly wrong with this earth. There are some personalities and forces that are trying to influence you negatively. There is a thief who comes not except to steal, to kill, and to destroy. There are forces in this life that are trying all they can to make you die or fail; but God, through love, has made provision to save us from these forces.
The Bible tells us in Acts 4:12, that there is no name given under heaven among men by which we ought to be saved except the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible says at the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus is Lord. There is power in the name of Jesus! The name saves, heals, liberates, and empowers. The name of Jesus is a “super name”. The Bible says “the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and they are safe”. You will find safety when you run to that name.
You must believe that we gain access to the saving and liberating grace of God by that name.
[Romans 5:1-2 KJV] “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
This is what it means to become a disciple. To become a disciple is to gain access to the grace that enables you to live as God wants you to.
The Bible teaches us that “After proclaiming the Message in Derbe and establishing a strong core of disciples, they retraced their steps to Lystra, then Iconium, and then Antioch, putting muscle and sinew in the lives of the disciples, urging them to stick with what they had begun to believe and not quit, making it clear to them that it wouldn’t be easy: “Anyone signing up for the kingdom of God has to go through plenty of hard times.”
Tough and hard times may come but you can make it. It may not be easy but it is not impossible. You can make it by an unwavering faith in God, an assurance of salvation, a resolve to endure hardness, and submission to elders appointed over you.
Listen, you can and will overcome; let us press on!
