[1 Peter 3:10-12 AMP] “For, “The one who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good—whether apparent or not], Must keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from speaking guile (treachery, deceit). [11] He must turn away from wickedness and do what is right . He must search for peace [with God, with self, with others] and pursue it eagerly [actively—not merely desiring it]. [12] For the eyes of the Lord are [looking favorably] upon the righteous (the upright), And His ears are attentive to their prayer (eager to answer), But the face of the Lord is against those who practice evil .”
Without a doubt, we are living in great but uncertain times. None of us knows what tomorrow brings. Today is physical distancing, tomorrow its partial lockdown, then total lockdown. Many people are living in both ignorance and uncertainty. We seem not to be aware of what tomorrow brings or when this is likely to end.
The Bible scripture above teaches us how to craft our days and determine what days we want to have. The Bible says that anyone who loves life and wants to see goods days must do the following things;
- Refrain his tongue from speaking evil, snd his mouth from speaking guile
- Turn away from evil and do good
- Seek peace and pursue it
These are the three master keys to create a better life. You have the power to change your life. We know that life and death are in the power of the tongue. This means that as you speak, you are creating something, and you’ll eat what you create.
You must, therefore, choose what you say carefully. You must pay attention to what your mouth says. When you learn to refrain your tongue from speaking evil and to keep your lips from guile, you will create a great future of good days. So, what you say with your mouth will determine what you enjoy.
We must be circumspect with what we say and I believe that what we say has a great way of impacting our lives. If you really want to enjoy your life and see good days, then be your own prophet and speak good over your life. What you say will be recreated in your life. Your tongue is a powerful tool that can make or unmake you.
The second key is to be socially responsible and do what is right. You must eschew evil and do good. You must sort your actions and do only what is good.
The third key is to be at peace with all men. Seek peace and pursue it. Don’t bear grudge! Don’t speak negatively! Forgive and let us love!
To create a better world and life for yourself, three things matter most: what you say, what you do, and how you live with others.
These are the three key things that determine how you create the life you want. In this great but uncertain season, stay focused, positive, and peaceful. You can create a life that is good and enjoyable if you so wish. Just say the right things, do the right things, and be at peace with all men.
Don’t speak out of fear, anxiety or resentment. Speak faith, hope, and love! This is the number one secret to creating a better life.
