Have Faith In God

Many of us know what we must do but not how to do it. It is one thing to be told to have faith in God; and another thing to be taught how to have faith. We want to spend this moment to understand how to have faith in God.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.  

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.  

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.  

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Exhortation

Those who have faith in God achieve great fates. Those who have faith in God overcome harrowing circumstances. They overcome near impossible situations. Faith in God ushers believers into the realms of possibilities.

So how do I have faith in God;

1. The first step to have faith in God is to believe that God exist.

Hebrews 11:6 emphasises that he that comes to God must know that He is. You cannot put your faith in a person you think does not exist. To have faith in God is to believe that he indeed exists. To accept that God is real and he is a real person who lives somewhere beyond the clouds and also in our hearts by His Spirit.

2. The second secret to have faith in God is to accept that He does not only exist but that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Until you are persuaded that God is faithful and would reward those who seek Him diligently, you cannot incline your whole weight upon Him. To have faith in God is to trust in His faithfulness and the truth that He rewards those who seek Him diligently. All the stories of Abraham, Moses, Enoch, Daniel, etc., are meant to persuade us of God’s faithfulness.

3. The third step is to accept the Bible as a compilation of God’s dealings with is people.

Romans 15:4 teaches that God deals with men and that the things that are written were written for us; so that through the comfort of scriptures we can wait for the manifestation of our own word (Romans 15:4). This word is quick and powerful; sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). These same word reveals the ways and the works of God. They testify about Christ. You must accept the Bible is a compilation of truth of who God is, how He has dealt with people in the past, and how He is likely to deal with us. (Deuteronomy 29:29)

4. The fourth secret is to take God at His word because the Lord changes not.

Whatever He has done in the past He will do it again today if we take Him at His word. He is faithful. He is good.  As we read the scriptures and hear all the testimonies we must accept that the word will deliver if we take God at His word. We must count Him faithful and able to do what He says He will do.

5. The fifth secret is to know that faith comes by hearing but faith delivers by believing and prayer (Romans 10:17):

People whose faith is in God believe, pray, and work in full assurance. Our Lord Jesus Christ had faith in God, so when He spoke against the fig tree, He went his way and kept obeying His call.

You can have faith in God and step into the realms of possibilities. You can begin to soar with wings as eagles. You can walk in power and authority, and live a life of favour. All things can become possible to you again. It is time to take God at His word and act. You will not fail.
