The Holy Spirit – God in Us

“But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;  And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:  And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:” (Acts 2:16-18 KJV)

It is an understatement and immaturity to reduce the Holy Spirit to demonstrations. There are many dimensions to the Holy Spirit.

Thus saith the Lord “I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh

Church-in-Accra

We are literally living in the days of the Holy Spirit, the dispensation of the latter rain and the great move of God.

These are not the days of Elijah, and these are not the day of Moses as we sing. These are the days of the Holy Spirit. These are the days of God Himself. We have the Spirit poured out on us. We are living in the day of the great outpouring.

Many of us are not experiencing the fullness of the great outpouring because we have reduced the Holy Spirit to only His demonstrations.

There are however many dimensions of the Holy Spirit that the church must desire and earnestly seek to experience.

  1. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit:

This is what brings the enduement with power of the Holy Ghost. (See Luke 24:51 onward,  Acts 1:8)

  1. The Outflowing of the Holy Spirit:

John 7: 38-39 teaches that the Holy Spirit does not only fill those who believe but He also desires to flow out of us into the world to heal others. When fully allow Him, the outflow of the Holy Spirit leads to the demonstrations of the Spirit and of power (1 Corinthians 2:4). The demonstration of power is the manifestation of the mighty deeds and acts of God

  1. Leading of the Holy Spirit:

Romans 8:14 says as many as are led by spirit of God they are the sons of God. We will walk in power when we learn to walk in the leading of the Holy Ghost.

  1. Gifts of the Holy Spirit:

There are several gifts of the Holy Spirit (See 1 Corinthians 12). These may be categorised into three broad groups: relational gifts, vocal gifts, and power or action gifts. God gave us these gifts so that everyone of us would profit with them. Unfortunately, many of us are not making profit in life because we lack the active manifestations of the gifts, and instead of relying on the Holy Spirit, we rely on ministers and on ministries.

  1. Fruits of the Holy Spirit:

These are the various attributes that the Holy Spirit bears in us to define godliness in us (See Galatians 5:22)

  1. Help of the Holy Spirit:

He is a praying and crying and travailing spirit. Romans 8:26 teaches that the Holy Spirit helps us to ‘give birth to things’ in prayer. He helps our weakness. We must learn to allow Him to help us in times of need. He will help us in prayer by teaching us what we must say in order to get Heaven’s attention.

  1. Comforting of the Holy Spirit:

In John 14:16-18, the comforting of The Holy Spirit comes through the release of truth. When the Holy Spirit is at work in your life, He comforts you by the truth. He takes truth and gives it to us.

Father, pour out your Spirit upon us! Send us a revival! Send your rain! Oh God fall upon us right now!

I declare that nothing shall stop the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The barriers are broken; sin is pardoned; every selfishness is broken in Jesus’ name!

Receive a fresh hunger for God. As we wait on Him, may He visit us with His mighty presence and power.

Amen!
