And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24:32 KJV)
God uses pastors and men standing in any of the five fold ministries as one of His important communication tools.
When you despise the commandment of your pastor, you are actually despising God. This is because God uses pastors and prophets to speak to His Children. (See 1 Thessalonians 4:8)
According 1 Corinthian 14:6, we know that pastors teach from four main sources: doctrine, prophecy, knowledge and revelation. Whenever your pastor is speaking, he speaks either by revelation, doctrine, prophecy, or knowledge. It is very dangerous to resist your pastor when he is teaching by the Word of God. Some things are black and white; but others are shades of gray. Do not despise the instructions of your pastor.
Don’t despise the teaching and commandment of your pastor; they will save you from destruction and danger. They will preserve your increase and fruits. Beware of rebellion and listen as your pastor speaks. Whenever your pastor is speaking;
Listen to your conscience:
God uses our own conscience to speak to us. (See John 8:9; Proverb 20:27) We know that “the spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord.” If you train your spirit, the Lord will speak to you by your own conscience. Hebrews 5:12 teaches that “strong meat is for those who by constant use have trained their senses to discern good from evil.” Everyone of us can train our senses.
Don’t ignore the burning in our hearts:
The seventh and final communication tool we would discuss is the burning in our hearts. “And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?”
Conviction and other manifestations are signs that God may be telling you something. May the Lord help us! May He speak to us daily! May He help us to hear and understand Him!
