(Jeremiah 3:21-23 KJV) “A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the Lord their God. Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God. Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.”
One of the most deadly diseases in the world today is perversion and backsliding. Many have turned back from their first faith and first love. Many have become faint in their journey. Many have lost hope and are unable to give themselves wholly to the things of God.
Yes, agreeable so; they expected to reap at some particular time. And when the fruits delayed in coming, then said within themselves that it is vain to serve the Lord. There were women who kept themselves pure awaiting Mr. Right, but when the young man delayed in coming, they gave up their first faith and fell into condemnation.
I came to exhort you, that hoping that salvation will come from the hills, the mountain, or from the high and mighty is vain. The hills and mountains and those making you promises may look promising from the beginning but in the end, they will altogether be as nothing.
If you have fallen from your first love and first faith and first hope; I came to exhort you to return to the Lord in faith. Truly salvation is of the Lord. Jehovah is the only one who can save and heal us of our backsliding. Some have given up on ministry and some have given up hope, but God will heal us when we return to Him
The emphasis of our prayer today as we wait on God is to return to the Lord acknowledging Him as your God. As you go through the day; your foremost desire should be to find your first faith and hope. May the Lord touch your heart and ignite your spirit! May today mark the journey of your return! Receive healing and a restoration of fire and zeal.
I believe that as we return; the Lord shall heal and restore us fully.
