“But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way” (Romans 14:10-13 KJV)
The Bible teaches clearly without mincing words that Jesus Christ is coming again soon; and there comes day of accountability. This is a day when each believer shall give an account of him or herself to God when we stand before the judgement seat of Christ.
Matthew 24 points to the fact that that day is so close and even at the door. That day is so close and we must get ready to face Him with joy and grace.
Against the background that it shall be a day of accountability, it is important to inform you that we are saved to serve. In this light therefore if we are saved and do not serve, then we are failing God and forfeiting some of the rewards God had planned for those who serve faithfully. (Matthew 24:43-47)
“We shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one shall receive what is due him for what he did while in the body whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:9-10)
There are 3 things God expects of each of us if we want rewards that last forever:
1. God expects you to be a blessing to as many people as possible:
It’s important for us to seize every opportunity to love, help, encourage, and forgive our neighbours. God wants you to seize the opportunity to smile at people, help people; encourage people. God expects you to bless people no matter who they are. “Bless them which persecute you: Bless, and curse not.” (Romans 12:14) See also 1 Corinthians 4:12; Bless the young, bless the old; Bless the poor, Bless the rich, bless the poor. (See Mark 10:16) Bless only.
2. God expects you to have a prayer ministry:
You must pray not just for your life and family but also for the church; for revival, and for evangelism. Develop a passion and plan for your prayer ministry.
3. God expects us to be a witness of Christ both by word and by lifestyle:
We are called to be ambassadors and ministers of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:20)
You will be effective if you;
- Connect and remain faithful to a fellowship of believers
- Grow in grace and in knowledge
- Wait on Him daily to be endured with power.
Let’s give hope, prayer, and encouragement below. Post a comment & let the discussion continue.
Stay blessed and prepare for eternal rewards.
I love you
