(2) Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon–tamar, which is En–gedi. (3)And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord , and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. (4) And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord : even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.” (2 Chronicles 20:1-4 KJV) Reference: 2 Chronicles 20
This is the time to gather and advance the kingdom of God. Indeed a poor church cannot contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the kingdom of God. It is also impossible to prosper when you are bound and under siege. It is liberty and freedom to work and prosper.
It is time for us to engage every relevant spiritual force to break every evil siege over our lives. I believe God will release angels and every relevant spiritual power to help us.
What are these relevant spiritual forces that Judah engaged to break the evil siege? In the story under review, we discover seven (7) relevant spiritual forces;
1. Reporting back promptly:
They reported the matter; They revealed the matter to the leader. Loyalty does not withhold information. They reported the matter promptly to the leader. When the early church came under attack they returned and reported to their own company. (Acts 4)
2. Gathering to ask help of the Lord:
They sought the Lord and declared a fast. Jehosaphat declared a fast in all of Judah and Judah came out and gathered themselves to ask help from God. They came out, gathered together and asked for help. Everyone came out; they came with their wives and children; they gathered to ask help from God.
3. Leadership, prayer, scriptures & the prophetic:
The leader led them to pray. He prayed according to the scriptures. They prayed until the spirit came upon the prophets to speak. Remember, God speaks into our lives but prophets speak into the moment. Reading the Bible is good because you get a general understanding of the plan of God. The essence of prophets is to speak into the situation for the moment. (2 Chronicles 20 reading from verse 14)
4. Faith:
When the word came they bowed themselves and worshipped. 2 Chronicles 20:18-19 tells us the leaders and priest bowed down and worshipped. They did not wait for the manifestation. They received the word of God as the performance. Your worship is a sign of faith.
5. Exhortation:
Some people easily forget the word; so keep reminding your children if you want to see manifestations. Exhort your friends, family and neighbors to believe. When someone speaks a contrary word, remind them of the prophecies. They exhorted themselves. 2 Chronicles 20: 20 teaches us that they exhorted themselves to believe God and His prophets. Faith is the key to tangible exploits. Believe God and believe His prophets. Don’t relent; rebuke, reproof and exhort with all doctrine and longsuffering. Comfort the feeble minded.
6. Step into action with praise:
The joy of the lord is your strength and praise is a sign of trust. They engaged in singing and praises. 2 Chronicles 20:21 downwards teaches that they went out praising God. As you go out praising God, you will conquer every siege.
7. Steadfast following:
Even after the victory is won and manifested, you must continue with the leadership and mission. We are in this together. A testimony is not an end but a weapon for greater victory. Continue coming, praying, learning and giving (Acts 2: 42-47).
I see you breaking every evil siege today as you engage these seven spiritual forces. Stay blessed.
I love you.
