The Spirit of God is speaking to us expressly to live simpler lives and enrich our experience. Indeed, life is complex but you can break it down to simpler routines that makes it worth the while.

Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:1-3 KJV)

I can assure you that the Christ life is simpler and more fulfilling than any other attempt. When we learn to live as Christ lived, we would be both happier and healthier than scrambling for things.

How do you live this simple life? How can you make the experience of living richer with fewer things?

  1. Receive everyday as a gift from God:

Ecclesiastes 7:14 teaches us to receive everyday as a gift; the preacher says “in the day of prosperity be joyful and in the day of adversity consider that God made it so”.  You will find greater joy when you receive each day as a gift from God; and each event as part of God’s program to work all things together for your good. God is able to turn a bad day for a good purpose.

  1. Make every mealtime a merry making time:

Ecclesiastes 9 teaches us to eat our bread with joy and drink our wine with a merry heart. Eat your bread with joy. Keep to simple meals and live a healthier life. Keeping life simple make the living experience richer.

  1. Groom with integrity and poise:

Remember God looks at the heart but men look on the outward. Dress and think well, that is how to keep life simple. Don’t suspect or complain; don’t criticise but be gracious; mind your own business and live long and peaceful.

  1. Live joyfully with your spouse if you happen to be married:

You don’t need a perfect spouse before you can have a good marriage or home; it takes hard work and wisdom. A wise woman builds her home; a foolish one tears her home apart. I pray that each one of us will begin to build our relationships with those who matter. Promise to live joyfully with your wife.

  1. Work at what your hands have found to do with all your strength:

Whether you work as a peasant, a preacher or as a politician, do it with all of your strength. Don’t die with the music in you.  The grass may look greener on the other side but it’s because someone watered it daily. If you work with might, wisdom, diligence and skill, you would excel beyond measure.

May you have a richer experience living a simple life. May you never lack a thing. May God establish and prosper you. May you have testimonies to share in the coming weeks in the name of Jesus Christ!

I love you
