[Proverbs 4:10-27 KJV] “Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; And the years of thy life shall be many. I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; And when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: Keep her; for she is thy life.”
“Enter not into the path of the wicked, And go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, Turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; And their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.”
“For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is as the shining light, That shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: They know not at what they stumble.”
“My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.”
“Put away from thee a froward mouth, And perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, And let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, And let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: Remove thy foot from evil.”
As the English would have it, there are many ways of killing a cat; the just way and the wicked or perverse way. The difference, however, is that whereas the path of the just, as shinning light, shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day; the paths of the wicked is as darkness and grow dimmer and dimmer until they can not tell when they stumble.
The will of God for us is to walk in abundance here and now; and in the world to come. God never said you should wait till you get to Heaven before you enjoy; He wants to give you Heaven on earth. He wants you to have abundant life now! That is why He came. He came that we would have life and abound with life.
You have a choice to make;
- To increase in the just and equitable way or
- To increase and abound through perversion, bloodshed and wickedness
It’s your choice. If you choose the just way, then I want to assure you that your path, as a shining light will shine brighter and brighter unto a perfect day. Your beginning may be small but your end will greatly increase.
If you choose the dark alternative, then be assured that your path will grow dimmer and darker till it gets very dark.
The Scriptures, however, instructs us on three things
- Receive and keep the words of your father. Be taught in the paths of light by your father. Keep the words of your father and in all thy getting get wisdom. Be careful what you listen to and read. When you keep the words of your father, you will not stumble when you run, and you will not be in a tight corner when you walk.
- Keep not company with the wicked and evil men. Don’t learn their ways; don’t walk in it. They may seem to have prospered but they shall have a terrible ending.
- Keep your heart with all diligence because out of it flows all issues of life. Why should you keep your heart with all diligence if the issues of life flow out of it? It is because there are so many forces, entities and personalities that are trying to gain access to your heart. There are so many forces that are trying to gain control of your heart and to control it.
I pray that you will abound with life unto eternity. I pray that you will not fail nor shrink. May you increase and shine brighter unto a perfect day.
