I want to exhort you briefly today on the 3 secrets of great teachers. I believe that every one of us is a teacher in some sense. Knowingly or unknowingly, your words and actions are teaching the world around you. There are so many people who are learning from you. Sometimes you are unaware of who you are teaching but generations are learning from you. I, however, want you to be intentional about teaching nations around you.
[Matthew 28:18-20 KJV] “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
I want you to teach the generations that come after you. What then will be the three great secrets to transform your teaching ministry. The first hint to become a great teacher is to focus on learning and not on teaching. Let the learner determine the pace and not you. The three simple secrets are:
- Tell
- Teach
- Train
If you want to really teach me something, begin by telling me what you want to teach me. Start from the conclusion to the details. Start by telling me what the conclusion or the action point is.
You must become a great teacher. You were made to be a great teacher; but how?
The second secret is now that I am persuaded that I must be a great teacher, I want to know how? So then move on to teach me how or what and/or why? So then we must understand that great teachers tell, teach, and train. The second secret is to get into the details.
Then finally, involve your learners. Ask questions and let them practice. Until you involve your learners, they have not learnt.
If we are really serious about reaching the world, let us tell them the truth, teach them how to engage the truth, and allow them to practice the truth. You get blessed when you begin to do the truth not when you hear it. Remember, the tips are, tell, teach, and train.
For example? One plus one is two. How did we arrive there? Pick one bottle top and add another bottle top; how many bottle tops do you have?. Yes, it is two. Addition is increasing a quantity by what you are adding.
This is what we are called to do; to teach the nations; let us arrive and sharpen our teaching skills.
Stay blessed, I love you
