According to Wikipedia, Concepts are defined as abstract ideas or general notions that occur in the mind, in speech or thought. They are understood to be the fundamental building blocks of thoughts and beliefs. 4 of such fundamental building blocks of the Christian beliefs are revealed in Genesis 1:1.
My assignment this morning is to teach you these concepts to give roots to your faith in God.
Let’s read:
[Genesis 1:1 KJV] “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
The 4 concepts are that of
- Beginning
- Divinity
- Creation
- Heaven and Earth
These are four fundamental thoughts and beliefs of the Christian faith. Every believer must understand and receive these concepts if your faith will stand the test of time.
1. The concept of time:
It is important to get all men to understand that time is a creation. There was a beginning and for that matter, we anticipate an ending.
People who have not as yet admitted that there was a beginning, have a hard time admitting that this present earth and heaven will pass away one day.
2. The concept of divinity
We must be able to admit the fact that God is real, He exists and not fiction. The Bible says it’s only “a fool who says in his heart that there is no God.” God is real and we must strive to see Him by the eye of faith.
The bible says “he that comes to the Lord must know that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” We must seek to admit that there is divinity.
3. The concept of creation
The devil fights this concept so much because if you admit that you were created by someone, you will see the requirement to obey him. Some people pretend that there is no God so that they will escape obeying Him.
We must admit that someone created the heaven and earth. We must admit that someone created us. We cannot assume that we came out of any big bang or evolved from apes.
4. The concept of heaven and the earth
You must admit that heaven is real so that you can pay attention and be rest assured that heaven influences the earth. Once you can admit there are heaven and earth, you will live your life well.
The bible says “God created the heaven and the earth.” That suggests that once you live on the earth, there must be heaven that is occupied by God. This is a fundamental concept of the faith that must be taught and believed in the earth.
If science is searching for life on other planets and has postulated that aliens are living somewhere beyond the earth, then we cannot pretend that we don’t believe in heaven. Heaven is real; as real as the earth.
