[Matthew 28:18-20 KJV] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
I want to exhort you today on fulfilling the great commission, how to do what the church and believer have been authorised to do. We are to go into the world and preach the gospel and to serve and rule on the mountains of life. To fulfil this great commission, there are four things that you need;
1. Publicity:
The Bible tells us about how in Matthew 10, the Lord sent His disciples two by two into cities that He would Himself go. This advance teams went out to publicise the Lords coming. They were there to create awareness and anticipation. Publicity is so important in carrying out evangelism and church planting.
2. Resources:
We need resources and logistics. We need money to finance logistics and transportation, feeding and lodging, and rentals. The Bible teaches us that when the Lord went out preaching, certain women followed and ministered their substance to Him. I pray that the Lord shall raise pillars to stand with you in your quest to fulfil the great commission. I pray that His work shall never lack support and resources, supply shall abound. I pray that churches will begin to communicate with us concerning giving and receiving. I pray that this work will never lack resources.
3. Personnel:
The great commission requires personnel. You need a handful of support staff to get the work done. You need people to be part of the advance team and assistants. The Lord travelled with a team of 12 men and certain women. These twelve men were fulltime support staff and trainees. We also need men to help us with the work and to support the gospel. We need to build a team of missionaries dedicated to the work of reaching out.
4. Collaborators:
Indeed, the church and authorities of every community are the spiritual gatekeepers of that community. To reach any city, write a letter to the church and authorities of the city and ask for their support. Most often than not the church in town will be indifferent but you must inform them anyway. We must be determined and poised to stand firm and to preach the gospel.
The great commission must be fulfilled and it shall be fulfilled; nothing will stop the work.
