I want to exhort you today on the 5 proofs of faith that you must desire to see in your own life and in the church.
[Mark 16:14-19 KJV] “Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. [15] And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”.
[16] “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [19] So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”
Faith must produce certain tangible results to show that it exists in someone. What then are the proofs of faith?h What tangible results does faith produce?
The first proof of faith – Witnessing:
If you truly believe the Lord, you will testify of His word. The Lord teaches that if any man believes in Him the works that the Lord does shall be done by that man, and he shall even do greater works. If you believe then where are your works. Are you doing the works that He did, and even greater works? Are you reaching the vast lost world out there with the gospel? Witnessing is proof of faith. Those who believe testify.
The second proof of faith – Casting out devils:
Those who believe do not entertain demons and demonic activities. They are sensitive to demonic operations and don’t tolerate it at all. The Bible says our adversary the devil is roaring like a lion, seeking whom he may devour. The Bible says “resist steadfastly and he will flee from you”. So the second proof of faith is when you resist the devils and cast them.
The third proof of faith – Speaking with a new tongue:
The third significant effect of faith is to speak with a new tongue. Those who believe speak the language of faith, they don’t speak with the voice of devils. When you believe you change your language. It is almost by reflex, you begin to learn to speak as a believer, with the language of faith.
The fourth proof of faith – Immunity to poison:
We must believe that God will insulate us against deadly poison. The Bible says, “if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you”. I believe that even serpents have no power over you. I pray that this proof will be manifested in your life. May the Lord galvanise you against every poison, toxic substances, deadly venom, and all deadly things
The fifth proof of faith – Caring for the sick:
Those who believe the gospel don’t stigmatise and abandon their sick. They rather love, care, touch, and minister to them. I pray that as you touch the people of your household, the healing power will flow to them and heal them. I pray that God will use you as a healing agent to bring healing to this sick and hopeless world.
These are the five proofs of faith and I trust that as we study and believe this message, the Lord will cause it to manifest in our lives. You will not fail but will see the manifestations of this great grace.
I love you
