[2 Corinthians 10:3-7 KJV] “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.“
I want to teach you five things that are fighting you in becoming all that God created you to be. I believe with all my heart that if you deal with these five things, you life will be far better.
These five things are:
1. Strongholds:
These are fortified places in your mind, heart, and spirit where the enemy hides and launches from. These are most often entrenched positions you have taken. Strongholds don’t allow us to learn and grow. Strongholds make you intolerant towards new truths. You seem to be entrenched in a position and stuck.
2. Imaginations:
There is no bigger trap than an imagination that exalt charades. The Bible tells us that when Eve saw the fruit that the serpent presented, she “saw that it was good to make one wise”. Her imagination trapped her. She thought the fruit was to be desired and could make one wise. Her warped imagination trapped her. Many have left real treasure to pursue junk because of what they thought about it.
3. High things that exalt itself against the knowledge of God:
There are times when we have to deal with things that seem to appear as higher knowledge than the word of God. This is what leads many people into curious arts and magic. The things they find in the curious arts and magical books appear to be higher than the knowledge of God, which is a delusion. The Word of God, in fact, is the knowledge that created everything, including what magic and curious arts seek to explore.
4. Thoughts that disobey Christ:
Most often, many of us are ruled by thought which are not in conformity with Christ. Eve thought that by eating the fruit, she will become like God; when in fact, she was already in the image and likeness of God. She trusted her thoughts more than the word of God to her.
5. Disobedience:
This refers to things that refuse to obey the word of God concerning you. Pharaoh was brought into obedience when he refused to let Israel go and serve the Lord as a son.
It is important to teach that the most deadly sinkholes in which most men drown is looking at things from the outward appearance. Many people err because they look at things and evaluate most things from an outward appearance.
You will make a big mistake when you trust your eyes more than the word of God.
Pastor Noah Bediako
There is so much to life than meets the eye. There are so many invisible reality. Life goes beyond what the eyes can see. We all know about viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms that the natural eyes can’t see; we can talk about rays of light and colours in the colour spectrum that the eyes can’t see; we can also discuss even sounds at certain wavelengths that the human ear can hear. You will be making a big mistake when you trust your eyes more than the word of God.
“for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:” (Colossians 1:16 KJV)
This is the time to engage the weapons of our warfare, which is mighty through God to pull down these strongholds, imaginations, thoughts, high things, and disobedience. This is the time to engage truth and the word of God. This is the time to arise and destroy these things that fight both you and the church.
Amen!
