[Galatians 3:5 NLT] “I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.”
1. The simple secret to miracles is the hearing of faith.
What you hear, how you hear, why you heard has a great impact on the dimensions of the supernatural you can experience. The tree that births the anointing and the ministering of miracles is the hearing of faith.
I have already taught you that your doctrine, your company, and who speaks into your life will determine how far you go. The church will go far when we begin to pay attention to what we teach and who teaches.
2. Be careful who you listen to and who you allow to speak into your life.
We will still not get results even if the wrong person teaches the right things. The wrong person will always teach the right things with the wrong motives. The right things said with the wrong motives will still not make the impact. We must always make sure that the right person speaks the right things into our lives with the right motives.
Many of us who grow up in our cultured traditional African homes knew that some news is broken by only the elderly or the wisest. Today’s generation does not know that. Many of the people speaking are speaking with mischief and malice. Though they have spoken the truth, it is with the intent of hurting some other person’s honour.
Often, those trying to speak into your life are speaking with a lot of mischief, malice, and jealousy. And many destinies have been derailed because they allowed the wrong persons to speak into their lives.
Do you remember the story of Rehoboam and Jeroboam? Rehoboam lost 10 tribes because he listened to the young men instead of the older men. (See 1 Kings 12) Many have made mistakes because they listened to the counsel of the young, birthed from exuberance, rather than the counsel of the old which is birthed from experience, patience, and understanding.
If you allow the wrong people to speak into your life; you will throw away your treasure. Many have killed fruitful ventures through the wrong counsel. Many have killed virtue just because they listened to the wrong voice.
3. Remember, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God:
That is clearly to say that listen to everything through the filters of the Word of God. I mean the written word of God. If a prophet gives you a Word, filter it through the word; if your neighbour speaks to you, filter it through the Word; if the physician presents you a report, filter it through the Word. Use the word of God as a filter. Let the word of God guide your listening.
Until the Word is heard in faith, the hands of God are tied to help. In Hebrews 4:2, we learn that the Word did not profit those who heard it because they did not mix it with faith in them. Let us mix the Word with faith. Let us always listen through the filters of the Word.
4. To eat the fruits of miracles be careful how you hear:
The single thing that stopped the rise of the Tower of Babel was how they heard. The people did not hear each other well.
[Luke 8:18 NLT] “So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”
It is one thing to hear me speaking but another level altogether to understand what I said. Be careful how you hear; it has a way of impacting your decisions and actions.
5. Be careful what you hear:
Listen, content is as important as context, so be careful what you hear. What did you hear me say, it is important. Remember that the more closely you hear, the more you understand.
[Mark 4:24 NLT] “Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more.”
6. Lay apart malice, deceit, and hypocrisy; that is the only way you can receive the sincere milk of the word with meekness:
Sometimes, we miss the rhema of the Word through pride and intellectual dishonesty. Some of us act ‘too knowing’. We think we know everything and will not listen and learn from others.
[1 Peter 2:1-3 NLT] “So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness”
It is our season of miracles and the supernatural, we must spend more time waiting on God and reading. God bless you.
Stay blessed
