Why should you continue in fellowship? Today’s message is on six reasons why you should continue steadfastly in doctrine and coming to church.
[Acts 2:41-47 KJV] “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
“And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.”
“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
After believing and being baptised; the Early Church continued in some key pillars of faith:
- They continued steadfastly in doctrine and fellowship
- They continued steadfastly in prayer
- They continued steadfastly in breaking bread
- They continued steadfastly together and gave their offering to charity, ministry and missions
- They continued steadfastly in life with gladness, singleness of heart, gratitude, and contentment; praising God and having favour with God and men.
Everyone in the church continued steadfastly in these pillars; this explains why the early church had explosive growth. I want to exhort you to continue in one of the key pillars, which is the key of continuing steadfastly in doctrine and fellowship. Why should you continue steadfastly in doctrine and fellowship? Why should you keep coming to church?

- Because it is in church that you sure encounter the power that prayer releases: The house of the Lord is called the house of prayer for all nations.
- Because church is the place we meet to pray, praise God, study, and mobilise resources for ministry and missions
- Because those who are planted in the house of the Lord flourish in the courts if the almighty
