1. Wise people hear and do what the word of God says, fools don’t;
The wise know that life flows in seasons, and some of the seasons are rainy and stormy. Therefore, they storm-proof their lives by hearing and doing the word of God.
The Bible teaches that, “whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it (Matthew 7:24-27 KJV).
The word, therefore, teaches that when we hear and do the word that is spoken, we are like the wise that built his house on a rock. The rains may come and the floods will beat upon it but still, the house will stand. May your house and life keep standing even on a rainy day!
2. Wise people choose to be fools in this world that they may be wise, fools don’t:
The really wise people empty themselves of all earthly craftiness and become as fools. They know that, God takes the crafty in their own craftiness.
The Bible admonishes that, “Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. [19] For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. [20] And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain” (1 Corinthians 3:18-20 KJV).
The real wise people just walk in the biblical truth and they are not overtaken. Stop the many calculations and the figuring out of issues and just obey the scriptures and you can’t miss it. Just believe.
The King, David, lived to reign because he was smart enough to disguise himself as a mad man before Achish. Many of us will fail in life because we are too conceited in our own hearts and wisdom. David, though was king, behaved himself wisely in the house of Saul. He played the fool and preserved his life and destiny. He was not a fool but he played the fool.
3. Wise people listen and receive knowledge, fools don’t:
Fools learn the hard way. Fools want to see what you saw before they understand what you are saying, so they learn the hard way; but the wise learn by listening.
The Bible says, “When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge” (Proverbs 21:11 KJV).
The wise receive knowledge when you instruct them; a fool will not, until they have been hurt. Wise people learn by listening, Fools don’t listen until life punishes them or someone.
4. Wise people manage their time well, fools:
The wise know the value of time and understand that time is money, and money is life. The Bible admonishes us to “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, [16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16 KJV).
Therefore, the Bible admonishes us to redeem the time, because the days are evil. The most undebatable proof of wisdom is how a person uses his time. The wise always understand the times and seasons and know what must be done.
5. Wise people hear reproof of life, fools don’t:
The wise surround themselves with the wise and hears the reproof of life. The Bible teaches that, “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise. [32] He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding” (Proverbs 15:31-32 KJV).
It is almost impossible to hear reproof and learn when you dwell among fools. You need to have the wise as companions to be able to heed reproof. If you refuse instruction, you hate your soul, but those who heed reproof get understanding.
6. Wise people are faithful to their responsibilities to the end, fools don’t:
The wise servant will be what is required even when no one is watching. They know that life answers to reality and not to smoke screens.
Our Lord Jesus taught saying, “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? [46] Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing” (Matthew 24:45-46 KJV).
The wise rule because their lords find them faithful. May your lord find you faithful in the long run in the name of Jesus Christ! I declare that you shall rule, Amen!
7. Wise people prepare well ahead of time, but fools don’t:
The wise know that a lamp can’t give light without oil, so they ensure to take extra oil with them. The wise is circumspect and thorough in their preparation, but fools are not. I pray that you shall learn the secret of being thorough in your preparation.
The word teaches that, “… the kingdom of heaven shall be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. (2) And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. (3) They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: (4) But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps” (Matthew 25:1-4 KJV).
The wise are not caught unawares in their tracks. They don’t come ill-prepared. The wise come all set and prepared for the occasion. Success is inevitable when opportunity meets preparation.
In summary, these are some of the seven things wise people do which the fools don’t do. Stay blessed!
I love you;
