“A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight” (Proverbs 11:1)
One of the greatest pitfalls of revivals is the ‘burning out’ of the torch bearers. Most often than not, revivals die out because the key player ‘burn out’ instead of ‘burning on’. We must however ensure that the fire of revival keeps burning hotter and hotter by the day.
Our zeal and passion to preach the gospel, plant and grow churches, and to show compassion must not kill us. Our strength must be renewed day by day. We must go from strength to strength daily.
Many years ago, the men of Judah led by the prophet Nehemiah arose to build the walls of Salem (Later became Jerusalem). There was a great revival then, as we are experiencing now; but one thing threatened the continuity and progress of the revival; the strength of the burden bearers began to decay.
Apparently they were so consumed with passion for the work of God that they forgot to take care of the very vessel that carried the fire.
It is important to inform you that inasmuch as we must be running the race set before us; we must also run knowing that we can only go as far us our being can carry us. When your strength decays, you will be unable to finish strong.
Remember to care for the total man!
Today’s Prayer
You will not burn out! Say it out loud! I will not burn out! I speak over your life that you will be smart enough to care for your total being. The Lord will preserve you and keep you refreshed all the days of your life. Your strength will not decay, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
Prophetic Thoughts
Remember that man is spirit, soul and body but lives in relation to other things in his environment; as he engages in his life’s calling. There are therefore five (5) dimensions to life: spirit, soul, body, network, and work.
In order not to burn out in the revival, while you run the race set before you;
- Build your spirit man
- Save and enrich your soul
- Possess your body in honour
- Manage your social niche
- Prepare thy work without
God bless you!
