Today’s Bible Reading: Matthew 6:19-33

There are many ways of killing a cat, and there are many ways of making it in life. There is however one perfect way to succeed, prospers, progress and win in life without losing your soul, and that is to seek first the kingdom and righteousness of God.

Many are running after things and they end up losing God and piercing their souls with foolish and hurtful lust (See 1 Timothy 6:9-10). But those who put God first have all other things added unto them.

The Bible reveals how senseless it is to run after these other things. Our father knows we need them and He will add them unto us when we seek His righteousness and the kingdom first (See Matthew 6:32). Consider the lilies and sparrows, if He takes care of them, then He will take care of you.

So continue in faith. Don’t be like the unbelievers. Seek first the kingdom and righteousness of God means that for every action or choice you make, ask whether it aligns with the kingdom and whether it is how God would want you to act.

Dear God

Help me to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness. I don’t want to run after things nor get anxious. You clothe the lilies of the valley and the sparrows; I am counting on you! In Jesus name, Amen!
