Until we learn the secrets of engaging our faith many of us will abort God’s plans because of time lag. We must move on to understand how to engage our faith and not just how to get faith. We know that faith comes by hearing but how do you engage that faith to deliver results.

Scripture Reading

1 Kings 18:1–2 KJV

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.

And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

Today we shall be sharing on the secrets to engaging your faith.

We read that there was a great famine in Samaria according to the word of Elijah the prophet of God. There was no rain for three and half years in Samaria.

Now in the third year of the famine, the Word of the Lord came to Elijah saying “go and show thy self to Ahab for I shall send rain.” Between the time this Word came and its fulfilment was 6 months; the Prophet heard a word from God that rain is coming and yet it took 6 months before it actually rained.

When the Word of the Lord comes to us like it came to Elijah, we must engage our faith to deliver results by doing the following;

  1. Acts on every word that comes to you:

Whenever you sense that God is speaking to you, act on His word. God has been speaking to some of us concerning a business agenda, marriage, or ministry; act on the word. When God called Abraham to go out he acted on the word and went out, even though he did not know where he was going.

  1. Condemn every tongue that rises against you in accusation:#

Most often, when you try to act on your faith, there would be people who will accuse you. When Elijah acted, Ahab tried to accuse him; but Elijah refuted the claim instantly. When you step out, remember that you are to do the talking not the listening. If you allow people to talk, they will talk you out of your faith.

  1. Remove everything that speaks contrary to your faith:

Elijah removed the Baal prophets. He called down fire and eliminated the Baal prophets. He killed 850 of these false prophets. If you don’t remove things that speak contrary to the Word, they might weaken the faith of those who need to believe the Word. There are certain things you must kill in your life if your faith can work effectively. Some friends kill your faith; eliminate them!

  1. Speak what you believe to those who matter:

Elijah told Ahab to go and eat and drink; because rain is coming. There was no sign of rain but he spoken as directed. There may be no sign of rain now, but as I declare so shall it be. Speak the Word of God only.

  1. Climb the mountain and engage prayer:

Elijah fell on his face and put his head between his knees and prayed. He prayed earnestly and prayed tirelessly. He kept praying till the desired answer came.

  1. Hold on to what God told you no matter what:

Do not involve anyone as you engage your faith except those who are loyal to your commission. The people around you may be saying so many things but to engage your faith in the Word of God, you must be selective in your helpers. No matter what the situation looks hold on to your initial word.

This is the secrets to engaging your faith. You will pull through. Stay blessed; I love you!
